The other day my wife was looking for something new to watch on Netfix, and she decided to try “Orange is the New Black.” Right away I said, “Don’t watch it.”
When she asked me why not, I told her that it was pop culture garbage designed to appeal to foolish and simple minded people.
“But it won an Emmy award, so it has to be good,” she says.
My wife still has not yet figured out the pattern of Cultural Marxism and degeneracy which plagues our country, and to a greater extent the west in general.
I told her that, best case scenario, the show won an award because it appealed to the lowest common denominator, and that the target audience was the most simple and low IQ members of the population. I then went on to suggest that the actual reason the series won was probably because the Emmys are biased and on board with a particular agenda, but she decided to watch it anyways.
Within the first two minutes there was a lesbian gay scene. My wife got mad and turned if off, and I said, “I told you so.”
How did I know the series would be rubbish? Because most things today are rubbish. When it comes to pop-culture things it’s usually because they appeal to the lowest common denominator, which would be an IQ of about 100 (although this is descending toward 90). Aside from that, the pop-culture things are often trying to push a subversive agenda. By that I mean they are trying push the envelope for what is considered acceptable behavior, or to sugar coat things which people have been traditionally hostile toward (like Islam and homosexuality). So basically, appealing to the lowest sorts of people, and, making those people worse is the goal of pop-culture entertainment.
Of course, even without knowing what I know about modern pop-culture degeneracy, a series about women in prison only has so much potential, as it showcases the baser elements of our society. Usually when people are in prison it’s for a reason. I don’t really care much for series that focus primarily on dregs being dregs. The culinary equivalent of this series would be like pouring out the juice from a hundred glasses, collecting all the dregs into one cup, and drinking it. Why would anyone want to do that? I don’t know, but the fact that there is an interest in such series’ is a clear sign of cultural, moral, and intellectual decay.
I really miss the 50’s, even though I wasn’t around back then, when the primary goal of popular culture entertainment was to ENTERTAIN, and the secondary goal was to portray a positive message. Today the primary goal is to dumb down and celebrate corruption.
